General Spa | Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ethereal Aesthetics & Spa?

Ethereal Aesthetics & Spa is my little sanctuary in Hudson, MA where skin health meets deep care. I specialize in restorative facials, brows and lashes, and precision waxing. But honestly? It’s more than that. I created this space so you can relax, refill your cup, and walk out feeling like the most confident version of yourself. It’s not just beauty—it’s results, connection, and healing all wrapped up in one visit.

Where is Ethereal Aesthetics located?

We’re located right in Hudson, Massachusetts at 59 Apsley St. Suite #25 with plenty of clients traveling in from Marlborough, Stow, Bolton, Sudbury, and beyond. Exact directions will pop up when you book your appointment, parking is free, simple and stress-free.

What makes Ethereal Aesthetics different from other spas?

Here, you’re treated like family. My facials are full contact—meaning my hands never leave your skin unless I’m grabbing a product. I massage more than just your face. Scalp, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, even feet… because skin health is connected to your whole body.

And while anyone can slap a mask on you, I’m focused on root causes—hydration, collagen, lymphatic drainage, lifestyle, and even the foods you’re eating. You’re getting a results-obsessed esthetician who deeply cares about your long-term health, inside and out.

Do you accept walk-ins, or is it appointment only?

Appointments only. Every service is fully customized to you, and that requires reserved time and preparation. Booking ahead ensures I can give you the attention and results you deserve.

Is Ethereal Aesthetics a good spa for first-time facial clients?

Absolutely. In fact, I love first-timers. We’ll chat about your skin history, products you’re using, lifestyle triggers, and goals before I even start. That way, you’re receiving a fully customized facial—getting exactly what your skin needs. Expect a comfortable, relaxing experience and clear, simple guidance for what to do at home (no 10-step routines required).

Do you offer gift cards for local spa services?

Facial | Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Ethereal Customized Facial?

My facials are designed around you—your skin that day, your lifestyle triggers, your goals. I focus on relaxation, hydration, collagen stimulation, and lymphatic drainage while using high-quality products that I hand-select for your skin type. I’m full contact in facials, my hands don’t leave your skin.

How much does a facial cost at Ethereal Aesthetics?

Facials range between $78 and $150+ depending on length, add-ons, and the level of treatment your skin needs. Every service is priced transparently when you book online, so you always know before you step in.

How often should I get a facial?

It really depends on your skin goals. Ideally, facials every 4 to 6 weeks keep your skin consistently balanced and moving toward results. But even once every 2 to 3 months is still effective. Think of it like a seasonal reset - getting cleaned out, refreshed, and starting the next season with your best face forward.

Do facials help with acne or anti-aging?

Yes, absolutely. With acne, I’m not just treating surface breakouts—I’m looking at the root cause, like inflammation, dehydration, or even diet triggers. For anti-aging, facials boost circulation, support collagen production, and help smooth fine lines. Paired with massage and lymphatic drainage, you’ll see firmer, brighter, healthier skin over time.

What skin types do your facials work for?

All of them. Sensitive, oily, dry, combination—I customize everything from cleansers to masks based on how your skin shows up that day. No two facials are ever the same.

What makes your facials “full contact”?

This is one of the biggest things that sets me apart. My facials aren’t just about your face. I massage your scalp, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and your feet. My hands never leave you unless I’m grabbing a product. So you’re not just getting a treatment—you’re getting deep relaxation and results all in one.

Brows & Lashes | Frequently Asked Questions

What is brow lamination?

Think of brow lamination as a blowout for your eyebrows. It softens and redirects coarse or unruly hairs so they lay smoother, look fuller, and stay in the shape you comb them into. Perfect if you’re tired of gels that disappear the second you wash your face.

How long does brow lamination last?

Most of my clients see results for 6 to 8 weeks. It really depends on your natural hair growth cycle, but with good aftercare, you’ll wake up with polished brows for nearly two months straight.

What’s the difference between a lash lift and a lash tint?

A lash lift is like a perm for your lashes—it gives you a semi-permanent curl so you don’t have to wrestle with a curler every morning. A lash tint darkens your natural lashes so they look like you’ve already got mascara on. You can do one or the other, but the combo is a game-changer.

How long do lash lifts and tints last?

A lash lift can hold for 6 to 8 weeks (sometimes even 10 depending on growth). A tint usually lasts about 4 to 6 weeks before it fades out naturally.

Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?

Yes. Just give your lashes 24 hours to set before applying anything. After that, you’re free to use mascara—but I always recommend skipping waterproof formulas since they’re harsh and can undo your curl faster.

Are brow and lash services safe for sensitive skin and eyes?

Yes. I use professional-grade, gentle products and adjust timing to your tolerance. If you have a history of allergies, you can always request a patch test beforehand. Comfort and safety come first.

How much do brow and lash services cost?

Here’s the breakdown: Brow Tint $22, Lash Tint $49, Lash Lift $95, Brow Lamination $90. Everything is clearly listed when you book online so there are no surprises.

Who is a good candidate for brow lamination?

If your brows are thick, curly, coarse, or just plain unruly, lamination can give you that smooth, brushed-up look with way less effort. It’s also amazing if you want a fuller shape without committing to permanent makeup. Not ideal if you have broken skin or freshly microbladed brows, but otherwise, it works for most people.

Waxing | Frequently Asked Questions

What types of waxing services do you offer?

I offer precision waxing for both face and body. That means everything from brows, lip, and chin to underarms, arms, legs, bikini, and full Brazilian. Whether you just need a quick clean-up or full smoothness, there’s a service for you.

Does waxing hurt?

Let’s be real—yes, there’s a quick sting, but it fades in seconds. With good technique, quality wax, and the right prep, most people find it way more tolerable than they expected. And the best part? The more consistently you wax, the easier it gets.

How long does waxing last compared to shaving?

Waxing gives you smooth skin for about 3 to 4 weeks, depending on your hair growth. Unlike shaving, which can leave stubble by the end of the day, waxing removes hair from the root. That means slower regrowth and softer, finer hair over time.

Does waxing make hair grow back thicker?

Nope—that’s a myth. Regular waxing actually helps weaken the follicle, so regrowth comes in softer, lighter, and often less noticeable. Some clients even find certain areas stop growing back entirely after consistent treatments.

What’s the difference between a bikini wax and a Brazilian wax?

A bikini wax removes the hair outside your underwear line and along the top. A Brazilian takes it all (or almost all) off the front, and can include the backside if you want. It’s totally your choice how bare you want to go.

How should I prepare for a waxing appointment?

Come in with at least 2 to 3 weeks of growth (about 1/4 inch long). Lightly exfoliate 24 to 48 hours before, keep your skin hydrated, and skip heavy lotions or oils the day of your appointment. Avoid retinoids or harsh exfoliants on the area beforehand. Oh—and maybe skip that triple latte, since caffeine can make you more sensitive.

What should I avoid after waxing?

For 24 to 48 hours, avoid hot tubs, saunas, intense workouts, tanning, or anything that makes you sweat a ton. Stick to loose clothing, keep the skin clean and moisturized, and let it breathe.

Is waxing safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. In fact, a lot of my sensitive-skin clients switch to waxing because they get bumps, razor burn, or ingrowns from shaving. I use gentle, professional wax and adjust my technique to your skin. Just let me know if you’re on any medications (like Accutane or retinoids), since that can make skin more fragile.

Skin Health & Products | Frequently Asked Questions

What are “acne imposters”?

So many people come in thinking they have acne when it’s actually something else entirely—like perioral dermatitis, rosacea, or milia. I call these “acne imposters.” Treating them like breakouts can actually make them worse. That’s why I look deeper, ask questions, and help you figure out what your skin is really saying.

Why is Dove or bar soap bad for your face?

Dove is for your body, not your face. Bar soaps are super alkaline and strip your skin barrier. That means dehydration, irritation, breakouts—you name it. A gentle, pH-balanced facial cleanser will literally change your skin health. Please, for the love of your skin, ditch the bar soap.

Do I really need a 10-step skincare routine?

No. Absolutely not. Skincare marketing is out of hand right now. You don’t need a serum for every single thing you see on TikTok. Most people do best with three basics: cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen. From there, we can add in actives slowly, if and when your skin is ready. Simplicity wins.

What products do you use during facials?

I use professional-grade products that I know work—hydrating cleansers, treatment masks, serums like hyaluronic acid, and always a mineral SPF to finish. I pull what your skin needs in real time. No cookie-cutter protocols, no “one-size-fits-all” product lines.

Can skincare replace Botox?

Topical products can absolutely hydrate, plump, and smooth fine lines, and with consistent use you’ll see incredible results. But they don’t work the same way as injectables. What I do is help you maximize what skincare can do, whether or not you choose Botox.

How does hydration affect skin health?

Hydrated skin is happy skin. It looks smoother, calmer, and more plump. It heals faster, holds onto collagen longer, and even handles inflammation better. That’s why I’m always preaching hydration, hydration, hydration.

Can facials help with rosacea or eczema?

Yes, but it has to be done carefully. I focus on calming inflammation, strengthening your barrier, and avoiding triggers. Every facial is adjusted to your skin that day so we don’t overdo it. The goal is relief and support—not flare-ups.

How do I know if I’m using the wrong skincare products?

If your skin feels tight, stingy, or you’re breaking out in new ways, something’s off. Redness, flaking, or irritation are also big clues. Bring me your products—I’ll go through them with you and help simplify. Most of the time, less really is more.

Do you sell skincare products or give at-home recommendations?

Yes. After your treatment, I’ll send you home with a routine that’s realistic, affordable, and effective. No overstuffed cabinets, no wasted money. Just products and steps that actually work for your skin.
